Boss Moxi Debut LP - "Oddball"
The moment is finally here; Boss Moxi’s debut album is finished and ready for your ears.
After an agonising two year build up, a crowd funding campaign and one final tour, these Brisbane local legends are ecstatic to present their swansong in the form of the first – and last – debut album, Oddball.
Comprising of 14 tracks including their two lead singles Song of Joan and Nymphomaniac respectively, Oddball is the genre-defying, eclectic mix you’ve been waiting for. Absolutely refusing to be pigeon-holed, Oddball maps the journey the band has undergone to get to this point, showing the growth they’ve achieved and the setbacks they’ve overcome.
Frontman Brayden Doig recently said of the release that, “It’s been a long time coming. It’s been a very long, arduous journey that’s finally come to an end, and we’re super proud of what it’s become.” From the dark and sinister to the all-out jams, the flamenco horns and lead singer Brayden Doig’s trademark growl, Boss Moxi have given the phrase “all or nothing” a whole new meaning.
Praise for Boss Moxi
“It’s the vocals that really make this track, and it only takes about ten seconds to realize that. Sitting somewhere between Nick Cave and Kirin J Callinan, the theatrical melody has a powerful growl…you can just tell that this track would be completely insane when played live.” – Indie Shuffle
“Straddling further the line of what is sane…this proves an excellent taste of their debut album, which is to be released in 2015.” – The AU Review
“Nymphomaniac is their latest release. The short track is a bit dark, a bit mysterious, and features a growl a la Nick Gave/Gareth Liddiard or even Kirin J Callinan that I just can’t get enough of.” – Howl & Echoes
“If their latest singles are anything to go by, their 14-track debut LP set to be unleashed early next year will be one jazzed-up dark psychedelic dream you’ll want to enter. ” – Hhhhappy
Oddball is on Itunes, Spotify and various other platforms April 17 via Bedlam Records.
